The Swiss architects Localarchitecture were commissioned to design a contemporary house that has an aesthetic conviviality with other houses in the village of Maracon, typical and topical Swiss cottages. The architects, from the architecture of the area, recoded the essence of traditional alpine house and reinterpreted the use of the building to match existing aesthetics. The accuracy of the result is obvious.

The building, comprising two adjoining apartments, is situated at the end of a village of houses and respects the morphology and scale of other buildings in the small town. Its shape is adapted not only to the traditional aesthetics of people, without also topography, landscape and climatic conditions of Switzerland.

The program determines the shape of the building, which must accommodate two families during holiday periods. The structure consists of a series of walls that generate the volume of the building, whose plan does not proceed linearly but makes a small angle. The house and takes a concave shape on the north side and one slightly convex on the south side.

The northern part is the one to bear the cold wind chill during the winter, and so this facade has been completely closed and has been covered with wood, although it has been at the main entrance. The large openings in the home are located on the south, raised completely as a glass front overlooking the garden that fills the two apartments of light and clarity. The somewhat convex glass façade of this visually separates the garden into two parts and create a separate space for each of the families. At night, the building maintains its presence in the town thanks to the brightness of its interior.

Additionally, the south facade has a cantilevered roof that protects the glass windows from the direct rays of the sun. Thanks to some large external blinds can freely modify the entry of light and adapt to the needs of each of the seasons. The visual effect created by the small overhang, topping a gable roof is certainly a small gesture that creates a dialogue aesthetic well suited to the traditional architecture of the small town.
