Casa las Torres GLR Architects – Gilberto L. Rodríguez
Located at the top of the Sierra Madre Oriental, the Casa Torres seeks to establish an intimate contact with the natural environment in which it is located. The house opens quietly into the street and accessed through this source, the a majestic tree that emerges both in size and beauty.
Once on the porch, a large door we receive in the form of mural made of marble, wood and steel.
The lobby welcomes the user with Santo Tomas lilac marble and walls of volcanic site, but also gives visual continuity to the rest of the house and garden, which seeks to respect fully the existing oak forest.
The room, designed almost like a glass box provides visual freedom to see both the mountain and the garden, with its large windows in the north and south sides, while his fireplace invites us to enjoy the warmth of the fire on certain nights which can become very cold due to the altitude of the site.
From the dining room from the TV room can access the roof terrace where you can enjoy splendid views of both the Sierra Madre and the entire metropolitan area of Monterrey.
The house shows a sequence of spaces that leave the public areas to intimate, always within sight of a garden.
