Contemporary yet Comfortable Home

This image is in the Villa San Valentino, designed and built by architect Stephan Unger in Merano, Alto Adige. This is a ‘home designed to accommodate two separate families, but with common areas to share. The unusual shape is designed in harmony with the line of mountains and also with the view that it can be enjoyed from virtually any angle, framed by windows as paintings are always different. Modern lines are softened, however, the use of traditional materials and traditional trades, such as the larch, the oak, the marble of Lasa, porphyry and granite. The result is a contemporary yet comfortable home.
