The house is situated in a flat area of 1500 square meters in an emerging residential area within the city of Mendoza in Argentina. A typical continental climate zone, with large amplitudes weather between stations where the little breeze comes mostly from the South. This house was designed by A 4 Studio – Architect and architect Leonardo Codina Juan Manuel Filice and has an area of 450m ². The project proposes the joint space agencies, the definition of areas. Articulated from the course, once you pass the dramatic access, home summer exploring behavior in relation to the outdoor patio and public behavior to the north and winter in terms of interior and private patio. Intimate areas have their own outdoor area to the east. The geometry is sensitive to geographical conditions, opening its eastern side to funnel breezes from the south and increasing the central level to control the western sun. The project is an opportunity to rethink the suburban housing facility in emerging environments in contemporary Latin American urban space. Understanding space as a stimulator, suggesting geometries sensitive to weather conditions and operating from a sustainable awareness. The house always runs on an intimate central courtyard, opening the main spaces to a large perimeter garden use more public and more humid conditions. The main spaces are arranged facing north in order to obtain a direct heat gain from sunlight, smaller spaces more intimate, are oriented east to its own sphere, leaving the service to the west. Due to the natural movement of air masses, the volume of air in the central courtyard causing temperature rises vacuum and absorbing the environmental benefits of the garden perimeter through the interiors of the house. A series of elements support this strategy prosecuting the south breezes, reducing the flow section and achieving a natural acceleration that supports the entire system. The same resource is used in the central courtyard from a small opening in the concrete wall. The great wall that emerges from the central courtyard, with the fundamental mission of protecting the house of the solar radiation coming from the west end also solving the access area. To protect the west side opted for a ventilated façade system with micro perforated material, which in turn resolves the main facade of the house. The search is finding contrasts, facing a dramatic level of access from which you can see only ground and sky to open deep inner space, where multiple instances can be understood visually, where everything seems to be in space and time simultaneously. The materiality of the project is dominated by a skeleton of structural concrete made with the light brushing pine boards in the project reaches a subtle expression and severe. The micro material of the front changes its expression depending on lighting conditions. Guatambú planes natural shine, black boards doors and other materials operate by contrast satin or glossy finishes achieved by way of contrast with the main structure.
