New Rock showroom by OAB
Roca, the world leader in bathroom spaces, has recently opened in Barcelona more than his new show-room. Rock Gallery is a stunning space, besides presenting the products of the company, can hold many exhibitions, social activities and other events. Gallery Roca has been designed by Borja, Carlos and Lucia Ferrater of OAB (Office of Architecture in Barcelona), Carlos Ferrater study.
According to the architect: “Creating the building has meant a great challenge and we have involved much more than merely a constructive work. Rock Gallery is the interpretation and expression of the values of a company through architecture. ”
The modern showroom has 2,400 m2 distributed over 3 floors and your character is generated by the artistic and technological elements applied both at home and abroad. Materials such as water, light or the colors have changed as a building housing an experimental space that represents the essence of the brand Roca, a century-old brand generating unique spaces and environments through the interior architecture.
Roca’s commitment to cutting-edge architecture can be clearly seen in the building’s facade, designed to surprise. Entirely of glass, its design has been a technological challenge and is built in a completely innovative. The building, a light box that resembles a giant window, shows the inside through the front of a distorted form. During the day, depending on natural light, they create stunning visual effects. At night, the structure remains fully illuminated with hundreds of LEDs. The interior reveals a unique architectural space with modern audiovisual and sound systems light transport the visitor to a new spatial dimension. A zonal detection system allows to interact with the building through sensitive touch screens. All this spiced with spectacular special effects like projections or simulations of atmospheric phenomena.
On the ground floor we have the corporate side: here the values of the brand, the company’s history, and details of the management of the company and the markets in which the company operates or its environmental objectives of sustainability, innovation and design for the bathroom of the future. Also on this floor, visitors can witness a quick visual tour through the different types of bath in the world and discover the importance of water for humanity.
The first floor is an open space called the Triple Space, designed to house temporary exhibitions and various socio-cultural presentations. It also has a meeting room and a videoconferencing center. To celebrate the opening of Rock Gallery, Triple Space an exhibition on the history of Bath called The Bathroom. A Historical Look, exhibiting remarkable historic pieces of toilet.
On the top floor, really a show-room use, present the latest products and innovations of rock, created in collaboration with famous designers and architects.
