NFL stadium with lights LEED
Sport Aedas designed the first NFL stadium lights LEED certified, which is expected to be completed by 2013. The innovative stadium has a capacity of 75.000 people and is estimated at $ 800 million. $ 400 million less than a previous proposal.
The designers have used the topography of the site to build the stadium on a hill. This reduces the steel structure by 40% and allows about 75% of the spectator area will be built in tilt.
The asymmetrical configuration of the stadium left the boxes and VIP areas on the west side, integrating with the ground.
Besides its primary use by the NFL, this will also be used for soccer games, concerts, universities and large. The stadium is the first in the NFL to use this system and reduce CO2 emissions and will include several recycling initiatives for the same.
